"Scary Rednecks" is an omnibus edition of Weston Ochse and David Whitman's two anthologies known as "Scary Rednecks and Other Inbred Horrors" and "Appalachian Galapagos". This edition also includes a page listing the names of all twenty-six people who purchased it. That's right, there are only twenty-six of these numbered books. My copy is #2.
In addition, each author penned a new story for this edition. In these new stories several people, including all the patrons, get walk-in parts. In Weston Ochse story "The Last Great Rabbit's Chase of Looking Glass Hill", which takes place in an isolated redneck trailor park, I play a frantic, bald, lackey who gets his swift justice at the hand of Shane Staley, the publisher of Delirium Books. Here's my paragraph: "A wild-eyed man, arms flailing above a bald glistening head, appeared out of the gaseous clouds in front of Shane. Before he could move out of the way, the man had latched on. One arm gripped Shane in a desperate hug, while the other attempted to pry free the gasmask. Shane fired his pistol from the hip. The man jerked once then fell backwards. Shane stepped over the body, pausing only to see who he'd murdered. No biggie. He'd never liked Chris Hansen anyway. The asshole had been a Neidermeyer Yes-Man since he'd first shed his diapers." p550. ![]() This is the cover of the clamshell style box that holds the book. (Sorry for the crappy scans. The case is pure black and the book is solid red.) ![]() And this is the book itself. ![]() And here is the book in the case. |
