The Tale of the Unfaithful Lemon, An Unhappy Allegory
The Unfaithful Lemon

A Tragic Melodrama

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
--  Will Holt

We went places.
I like natural beauty,
and so did she....
At least that's what she said
I took her home to meet my folks,
and so we visited the farm.
I put her on a pedestal...
She only used it
to look down on me
She saw me as her fan, and thought
"What a silly fan!"

She thought she could do better.
She saw others...
I thought she was faithful.
How corny!
She did things with them...
they weren't her type

Unfaithful Lemon turned to men she could not trust, and was heartbroken when she trusted them. In the end Unfaithful Lemon ruined her life. And that makes me sad. And it also makes me sad that she ruined my life. The poor, Unfaithful Lemon.

The fire blazes toward us
Your fantasies
Mean nothing any more
Seize the moment
(but only when you need to)

For the sake of your reputation
This is the ending you asked for
But the sun still touches us
